Among the secrets to maintaining a relationship to stay long and become solid for couples are honest communication, companionate love, and mutual engagement.
Yet, agreeing with his partner invariably was a vital key for business magnate Antonio ‘Tonyboy’ Cojuangco, which made his relationship with celebrity Gretchen Barretto stand the test of time.
Amid engaging in several controversies, the two of them stayed ‘solid’–and this year, they celebrated their 27th year of being partners.
In the latest Instagram post on Tuesday, the socialite-star posted a video with her 25-year-old and only daughter Dominique Cojuangco about their relationship.
Baretto replied with a sweet smile and stated ’27 years’ when asked about being together with Tonyboy Cojuangco.
Dominique followed it with a question, “What’s your tip to everybody who wants to be together for that long?”
Barretto threw over the question to her long-time partner Cojuangco, who was eating, and replied, “Always agree with the mama.”
She laughed and asked Cojuangco, “Who’s the mama?”
“The mama is always right,” Cojuangco replied.
The former sex trip (ST) goddess confirmed in a caption to her post that she was the ‘mama’ Cojuangco was referring to.
“27 years @video by our baby @dominique it’s a pajama get together. Been nursing low blood pressure. I am the mama by the way,” @gretchenbarretto on Instagram

In their 27 years together, Cojuangco failed to tie the knot with Barretto due to the former’s legal and first wife, Denis Yabut Cojuangco.
Despite being tagged as mistress and a gold-digger, Barretto was grateful to her partner, whom she described as a perfect, hands-on father and a great provider.
Because of Cojuangco, she was able to rest from showbiz in 2019 and experience the life of being a full-time mom to their daughter.
Barretto likewise admitted that when it comes to their relationship, Cojuangco was a diplomatic man, “Tony is a peaceful person; he never picks a fight. He’s always the one who says ‘sorry’ even if I’m the one at fault. Ayaw niya ng gulo.”
