Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez talked about the recent ASAP absence of Sarah Geronimo. She mentioned that the Popstar Royalty might have a good reason for it.
Regine is known to be one of the closest celebrities to Sarah. They are both a mainstay in the Sunday variety show ‘ASAP.’
According to an article by ABS-CBN, Regine said that Sarah hasn’t been on ASAP lately and that her last interaction with the singer was through a text message when she was thanked for the gift she and husband Ogie Alcasid sent.
“I haven’t been seeing her. I miss her a lot. She hasn’t been doing ‘ASAP,’” Regine said during a virtual conference for her Valentine’s Day concert “Freedom.”
It was reported that Sarah hasn’t made an appearance to ASAP since November 1. Since then, the singer has appeared in the show only through recorded performances that are produced remotely.
Regine explained that the 32-year-old singer must have had a personal reason for not appearing on the show. But she noted that a lot of Sarah’s fans are missing her.
She also hoped that the singer will be back on the show soon and perform for her fans.
“I’m sure may maganda naman siyang reason for not doing ‘ASAP.’ But a lot of people are missing her. Ang kaniyang mga Popsters miss her very, very much,” she said.
“Sigurado naman akong miss din niya kami. I’m sure nami-miss din niyang mag-perform. I’m sure nami-miss din niya ang kaniyan Popsters. Let’s all pray that she’ll be able to do ‘ASAP’ again,” she added.
Meanwhile, netizens have been speculating that Sarah’s absence might be because the singer is already pregnant with her first baby with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli.
Sarah and Matteo have been married for almost a year now so that’s why some netizens showed their support to the singer if ever she was indeed pregnant.
When Regine was asked about what advice she can give to the said couple with regards to starting a family, she said that experience is different given the variety in the experiences of people.
“Mahirap magbigay ng advice ‘pag magulang, because it’s different for everyone. It’s really different for everyone.”
“My wonderful experience with my children, baka hindi siya maka-relate, kasi meron din akong stepdaughters. Iba ‘yung experience ko,” she said.
However, she said that if ever Sarah and Matteo are expecting a baby, she said that the two should just enjoy the moment.
“If ever, God willing, they’ll be given a baby, [my advice is] just for them to enjoy it, every minute of it,” Regine said.
