Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez shared that she was supposed to guest in the Kapamilya long-running action-drama series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
According to Regine, no less than Coco Martin approached her and ask her to appear in the teleserye, however, she had to turn down the offer due to conflicts in schedule.
“Yes, may offer dati sa ‘Probinsyano’. Nakakatuwa nga si Coco kasi may dala na talaga siyang storyline para sa akin. At ang ganda ng kuwento na ginawa nila.
“That was last year or two years ago pa, e, ang daming ganap that time, meron kami ni Vice Ganda (concert), then nagkaroon din ng concert with Sarah (Geronimo) and Ate Sharon (Cuneta). So, wala talagang schedule.”
Regine said she regretted letting go of the opportunity but she also added that it may not be too late for a second chance since Ang Probinsyano is still airing.
“Sayang nga, e, but who knows baka pwede pa rin naman dahil hindi pa rin natatapos ang Probinsyano, di ba?” Regine continued.
FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano has been on the air for nearly 6 years now.
Regine’s bankability can be attributed to her decades of experience in showbiz.
Known as Asia’s Songbird, Regine also ventured into acting which gave her few recognitions. But music is really her forte.
Regine has also been dubbed the new “Queen of OPM”. Regine was quick to shy away from monicker saying she’s far from being a queen but she also said that she’s grateful for people’s recognition.
“I am far away from being a queen, but I do work hard. I am very, very passionate (sa career ko).
“But you know, I’m very flattered and grateful for the title that I’m given, but like I said, I am not at all a queen.
Meanwhile, Asia’s Songbird is set to ignite the concert stage once more for her Valentine show on February 14 titled Freedom.
The virtual concert will be streamed simultaneously on digital platforms ktx.ph, iWanttFC, and TFC IPTV.
According to Regine, she wants to surprise and satisfy her audience that’s why many of the songs in the concert will be all outside of her comfort zone.
“A lot of the songs for this concert are not within my comfort zone. I wanted to surprise and satisfy my audience and hopefully will be able to do that in the ‘Freedom’ concert,” Regine said.
“Freedom” is produced by ABS-CBN Events, IME, and PLDT and is set to be directed by Paolo Valenciano with Raul Mitra as musical director.
