On Tuesday, February 9, Kapuso actor-singer and one of the Network’s Drama Kings, Dennis Trillo reminisced his debut via Star Circle Batch 10. He shared flashback photographs taken 20 years ago.
The actor’s entertainment career started in 2001 when he was introduced as one of the members of ABS-CBN‘s Star Circle (currently known as Star Magic).
Among his batchmates in that batch were veterans Bea Alonzo, Alfred Vargas, Nadine Samonte, TJ Trinidad, and Karel Marquez.
During his early years, he took part in Kapamilya’s top-rating soap-operas and played minor characters as Ruel in Pangako Sa’Yo and as Jojo in Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan.
“20 years ago ni launch kami sa Star Circle batch 10! #beterano #since2001” Trillo captioned on his latest Instagram post as he shared a throwback photo of their group.

Among Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, the actor was the latest Kapuso artist who crossed over as a Kapamilya film star.
He recently worked with Star Cinema for the horror film Hellcome Home in October 2019. Helmed by the young director Bobby Bonifacio, he was joined by Kapamilya stars Beauty Gonzales, Raymond Bagatsing, and Alyssa Muhlach in the film.
The film You’re Still the One (with Maja Salvador, Richard Yap, and Ellen Adarna) was his first movie project co-produced by Star Cinema and Regal Entertainment Inc.
For more than 18 years now, Trillo has been still actively doing acting projects both on television and in films since he moved to GMA Network in 2002.
He was known for his controversial role as Eric del Mundo with fellow Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez in My Husband’s Lover, the first-ever gay-themed drama series on Philippine television. The series gave him an acting award, two nominations, and a tribute from Asian TV Awards.
His breakthrough project was with Joel Lamangan‘s Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita where he played a gay cross-dresser spy during the Japanese occupation in World War II. He won several Best Actor awards for the said film.
