Rather than having a grand party, the Queen of All-Media, Kris Aquino happily announced that she is giving away cash gifts to her followers on her 50th birth anniversary.
According to Kris, the gesture is her way of being grateful for the milestones in her life. She will turn 50 on Valentine’s Day, February 14.
“Obviously, I won’t be having a party. On my birthday, ako ang magreregalo sa inyo,” Aquino said.
Recently, Aquino took to social media and said that she and her staff will randomly give away five thousand pesos (Php5000) cash each before her birthday. There will be lucky 25 facebook and 25 Instagram followers who will receive the gifts.
She also mentioned on her video post that this is her way of making up for not fulfilling her earlier promise that she will do a ‘closet tour’ content on her 50th birthday because they are still moving to a new home soon.
“No more questions to be asked. All you have to do is to use the hashtag #happybirthdaykris. That’s it! And then random ang pag-select namin ng winners,” the actress said to her followers as she simply explained the mechanics on how to join.
However, the actress-host-endorser got overwhelmed by the people’s reactions with over one hundred thousand comments and [still] counting since she posted on FB and IG on Tuesday, February 2.
Due to the response, Aquino opted to double her share and make it to a 10-day celebration, as she announced it on her second birthday post.
On her facebook, she said that every day five winners will receive 5000 pesos cash each, from February 4 to February 13.
“Nadagdagan gastos ko but nevermind. I’ll make more of you happy because you have completed my life. Actually kung tutuusin, gagastusin ko din naman yan kung pumarty party ako eh diba? So mas maganda naman kung sa inyo na mapunta,” Aquino said.
Alongside the cash gifts to be given away on her 50th birthday, the actress-host also asked her supporters to pray for her as she was in great fear of being like her father–former senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino, who died at the age of 50.
She admitted that she was affected by what her mother, the late President Cory Aquino once said, “I’m kinda superstitious na my Mom used to always say na ako yung female Ninoy. So, I don’t know kung tadhana rin. Please pray for me na hindi because sa kakasabi ng Mom ko, takot na takot ako na baka kagaya ng Dad ko, fifty years old, pati ako ma-dead,” as she explained the significance of being fifty.
“So, okay, ang kundisyon nating lahat is you have to pray for me ha! Na malagpasan ko tong fifty na to. So, that’s why, sabi ko, okay, I’ll only gonna turn fifty once, I want to live until I’m fifty one.”
As she nearly turns 50, she said that her son, Bimbi earning first honors award, son Josh who is enjoying life in Tarlac, and her being still alive–are a few of the many things she is grateful for.
She also mentioned that she will start new work on Friday, February 5. And even before she starts working, she will immediately share a portion of what she earns with her supporters.
