Kapamilya Love Team Karina Bautista and Aljon Mendoza (KarJon) spoke about their recent social media misunderstanding.
In January 2021, netizens noticed that Karina and Aljon had cryptic posts on their social media that seems to take a swipe at each other. They did not provide any statement about what happened. However, in their recent media conference, the two have finally addressed the issue.

Karina confirmed that they had a misunderstanding on social media.
“I think it’s not a secret naman, what we’ve been through, the biggest challenge syempre a lot of misunderstandings along the way, and ‘yung pagve-vent namin through (a lot of) platforms,” said Karina.
She added that they learned the importance of communication, patience, and respect for one another.
“We’ve learned from that, and actually, it has been a great experience. After nuon, we’ve realized kung gaano talaga kaimportante ang communication, patience, and respect for one another,” said Karina.
On the other hand, Aljon said that what happened helped them grow and strengthen their friendship.
“Pero para sa akin ‘yun ay part ng pag-grow namin at tsaka may natutunan kami, tatak talaga sa amin ‘yun at mas naging strong yung aming samahan. Actually, after nung mga misunderstandings na yun, yung level ng friendship namin is parang iba eh,” said Karina.
For their love team, Karina and Aljon feel flattered with getting compared to LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil), KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla), and JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre). However, KarJon said they want to be different in showbiz and make their path.
“Kathniel, LizQuen or ano man love team na sobrang bigatin, every time na nababasa namin sobrang flattered kami tsaka natutuwa, pero di namin sya pinapasok sa ulo namin as much as possible. Tina-try namin na gumawa kami ng sarili naming path. Sa tingin naman namin we are doing well,” said Aljon.
“To be compared with KathNiel, LizQuen, JaDine, and the likes grabe, grabe yung saya din namin na nakikita nila na malaki yung future para sa amin. Pero, tulad nga ng sabi ni Aljon, we want to be different in this industry,” said Karina.
Karina and Aljon also highlighted the support system that helped them through their career.
“Siguro si God. Ayaw ko mag sugar coat or anything pero totoo po talaga, kasi sometimes when I lose hope po talaga, talagang nag-aask na ko sa kanya ng help, na tulungan nya ko and sobrang tinutulungan nya talaga ako nafe-feel ko yun,” said Aljon.
“The management (ABS-CBN), not to sugar coat, they have guided me a lot. I’m super thankful lagi sa kanila kasi yung trabaho behind the camera is really not a joke, and ‘yung effort nila nakikita namin,” said Karina.
Karina and Aljon are Pinoy Big Brother: Otso alumni. They formed back in 2018 when fans of the reality TV show saw the chemistry between the two while inside the PBB house, and when they got to the outside world, projects came pouring in. Since then, the two have worked on projects such as Ghost of the Past and Hoy Love You. Now they host the latest edition of Bida Star Gandang Naturally Fresh.
