Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Monday presented yet another matrix that would allegedly show the amount that ABS-CBN owed the government.
According to the list that Roque has shown the media, the Lopez-owned group has an outstanding balance of P999 million. Still, with government officials presenting unsubstantiated matrixes that failed numerous times, this one belongs to yet another unbelievable list.
Philstar journalist Prinz Magtulis, like most netizens who heard the news, do not believe such information.
Since Roque did not cite any source, it is uncertain how he came up with the data.
May matrix na naman. Walang source. Not legitimate.
For everyone's info: The Lopez Group CANNOT apply directly to the SPV because it's NOT a financial institution. Only DBP, in this case, can sell bad loans to SPV and DBP already said everything was regularly conducted. https://t.co/xgYo9lMXuH

Moreover, Magtulis have noticed that in the matrix, the Lopezes has acquired a loan for Special Purpose Vehicles or SPV.
However, the journalist explained that ABS-CBN, which is not a financial institution, cannot apply directly to the SPV.
Only the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) can make such transactions or sell loans to the Lehman SPV. However, the DBP has cleared the Network, stating that every dealings with the media giant was regularly conducted.
