Multi-awarded actor John Lloyd Cruz‘s fans were surprised by the actor’s latest social media post.
Cruz, who rarely uploads photos of him–is slowly returning to show business after a four-year hiatus. A photograph of his with young actor Joshua Garcia recently came out online.
When it comes to acting, Garcia is likely to succeed Cruz’s.
The acclaimed actor seemed to be imparting meaningful advice to the 23-year-old actor in a post shared on his facebook page, reminding Garcia to focus on improving himself.
“One day everything will fall into place just the way it should be. So until then, don’t focus too much on the confusion.
“Just focus on improvement and betterment. Create a great life for yourself Joshua Garcia,” John Lloyd wrote. Crus is noticeably becoming active on social media again these days.

Fans, meanwhile, rhapsodized over Cruz’s message to Garcia, which some fans considered as brotherly advice.
“Such great words of motivation from you to Joshua. A very good Kuya,” a certain follower said.
“2 great actors. Learn from the mistake of others. Love yourself first before loving others. Spend time with your family cuz they will be the first to help you when you fall. Rise and start all over again,” one facebook user commented.
Others could not help but equate the young actor with Cruz, claiming that he is ABS-CBN’s next John Lloyd Cruz.
Few fans have hoped in the future for the two to star together in a film or TV series.
“Lloydie, you’re still the best actor. But for joshua, continue to inspire and prosper more than you think because you’re like Lloydie and YOU ARE THE NEXT LLOYDIE OF YOUR GENERATION,” another facebook user wrote.
“OMG! I was looking forward to this at sana magkasama kayo sa project. You are both great actors and I always see part of John Lloyd (especially acting) from Joshua,” a certain Netizen commented.
Garcia may not have won the Pinoy Big Brother plum in 2014, but his exposure to the reality show paved the way for his admission to show business.
ABS-CBN saw potential in the aspiring celebrity from a young and insecure 16-year-old then and offered him a break in the 2015 afternoon series Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita.
Furthermore, the succeeding years proved even brighter for him. He played significant roles in drama series such as The Greatest Love with Sylvia Sanchez and films like Barcelona: A Love Untold with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, and Vince and Kath and James alongside former on and off-screen partner Julia Barretto as his first movie break.
His acting skills gained recognition from Netizens after his critically-acclaimed performance in the 2016 MMFF entry and top-grosser Vince and Kath and James and in the primetime series The Good Son.
Fans, including the Filipino movie industry, saw a parallel between him and matinée idol John Lloyd Cruz. They called him the next John Lloyd Cruz.
Garcia, as one of ABS-CBN’s fast-rising male stars, has been frequently compared to Cruz. He has a striking resemblance in looks and behavior to John Lloyd.
Moreover, people noted that he appears to have similarities with John Lloyd’s acting capacity, particularly in drama.
Like the bankable actor Cruz, Gracia could easily connect to the viewers and make them feel the pain of what his character is going through whenever he breaks down in heavy dramas.
It was something that was not easy for the young actor, but he showed fine acting chops.
His versatility was exceptional as well. Aside from Julia Baretto, he was also paired seamlessly with Loisa Andalio, Jane Oineza, and Kira Balinger, not overshadowing them.
Garcia already showed potential as a leading man back then, and his ability to stand out with or without a leading lady was just undeniable.
At 23, he may be flattered by the comparison but said it’s a long way to go before he could reach Cruz’s achievement. He’s also hopeful that he’d earn as his person.
Recently, Garcia and ex-girlfriend Julia Barretto went trending after sharing the spotlight in Moira Dela Torre‘s music video of hit single Paubaya.
Meanwhile, Cruz said in an exclusive interview with the chair Rachel Arenas of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) that he’s thrilled to make films again.
