In a press conference for the GMA’s Babawiin Ko Ang Lahat, actors John Estrada, Carmina Villarroel, Tanya Garcia-Lapid recounted the struggles they experienced during the locked-in filming of the series.
Estrada said that the one-month locked-in filming tested his patience.
“Ngayong pasensyoso na ko ‘no, pero yung pasensyang ‘yun may limit talaga. Iba talaga yung locked-in na one month,” said Estrada.
Then he added a suggestion of having locked in filming with a maximum of 16-days.
“I hope makikinig yung management na siguro na I know it’s extra gastos, but sana naman sa mga artista para lang sana sa sanity ng crew and everyone in the production. Siguro the farthest you can go is sixteen days,” said Estrada.
Garcia-Lapid shared her experience as well. She added that Estrada helps the crew out whenever they feel the impact of the locked-in filming.
“Like ako kasi minsan, feeling ko nga naiinis na nga siya pagka nagkwe-kwento ako na, Kuya John parang hindi ko na kaya. Pero siya yung, hinde okay lang yan, sabay-sabay tayo iiyak, araw-araw, sabay-sabay tayo iiyak,” said Garcia-Lapid.
She then added the value of having a support group while in locked-in filming.
“Pero na-realize ko rin na kahit anong hirap or pagsubok ang dadating sa buhay mo or ang ibibigay sayo pag-meron kang support group, yung tamang support group malalagpasan mo ‘yun eh,” said Garcia-Lapid.
For Villarroel, she would remind herself of her love and passion for acting so she could get through the one-month locked-in filming.
“Kailangan talaga mahal mo ‘yung trabaho mo eh. In anything that you do, sa kahit anong trabaho, kailangan gusto mo siya, kailangan mahal mo siya, kasi with this new normal, sa locked-in namin, kung hindi mo gusto yung trabaho mo, mababaliw ka talaga at tsaka hindi mo talaga tatanggapin,” said Villarroel.
She then highlighted being thankful for still having projects during the pandemic.
“Always be thankful for what you have. Agree ako sa sinabi nila John, nila Tankee (Tanya Garcia) na mahirap. Mahirap, wala namang madaling trabaho eh, pero kung gusto mo yung trabaho mo mapapadali somehow,” said Villarroel.
Villarroel added that she reminds the crew as well of how fortunate they are.
“Tsaka sa mga staff, palagi kong sinasabi, pag medyo bumibigay na sila ng konti, lagi ko sinasabi, be thankful you have work, especially this pandemic,” said Villarroel.
