During the press conference for the newest Kapamilya star, Janine Gutierrez shared her opinion about her being ‘vocal’ on social media.
Firstly, as an actress, she pointed the importance of such platforms in spreading awareness and shedding light on important issues.
“I think it’s (important) lang to shed light on important topics. At no matter naman kung ano yung trabaho mo, whether kung artista ka or anything else. Pero parang bilang artista, mas may malaki kang responsibilidad na gamitin yung platform mo para ma-share kung ano man yung nalalaman mo,” said Janine.
She also added that she learned a lot from other vocal Kapamilya artists such as Liza Soberano and Angel Locsin. Janine also expressed the value of having a firm stance as others may share the same thoughts on a social issue.
“And, marami rin akong natututunan sa ibang artistang mga ganun, like of course Angel (Locsin), and Liza (Soberano). I think it’s really important to be vocal dahil hindi mo din alam kung sino yung kailangan makarinig nung sasabihin mo,” said Janine.
Later on, she recalled a tweet she received where a Netizen cited Angel’s first greeting to Kapamilyas. Then, Janine said that she echoed it through her Twitter account.
“Kasi sa Twitter nga po, mayroong nag-tweet sa kin na si Angel Locsin daw nung 2007, sinabi nya na ‘Hello Po TFC, Ako po si Angel Locsin.’ So ni-retweet ko, ‘Hello Po TFC, Ako po si Janine Gutierrez.’ Kasi yun daw yung sinabi nya sa ASAP or sa Presscon, I’m not sure,” said Janine.
Previously, despite receiving backlash, she still urged the public to speak up about political issues on social media.
@ comments na "sana hindi ka nalang makisali sa political issues"
to anyone who gets this too, pls don't be swayed. It's your right as a Filipino to speak up, question and be involved. I will keep repeating THAT YOUR VOICE MATTERS.
