Filipino-American rapper EZ Mil reacted to people comparing him to Francis Magalona.
In a media conference for the rapper, a reporter asked for his reaction to people placing him on the same level as late rapper Francis Magalona and Gloc-9.
He said that he felt honored and he acknowledged the impact left by rappers such as Francis M. But he also wants to forge his way through music.
“It’s an honor to (be) put in that, props to both of them. Rest in peace to Francis Magalona, and I will continue to forge my way through music in my own way,” said EZ Mil.
Additionally, he also pointed out that he will always find ways to release music dealing with his patriotism for the Philippines.
“Of course, I will always find (a) way to put out records that deal with my patriotism towards my home country,” said EZ Mil.
He also teased about possible collaborations.
“Whether they do come out is, like you know, up to whether they do come out. So keep an eye out, keep your eyes peeled,” said EZ Mil.
Finally, when asked which artist he dreamed of performing with on stage, he said he wants to perform on stage with rappers Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and ASAP Rocky.
“Of course, my favorite rappers, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky. It’s a dream. What am I to say it’s a dream when it’s already happening to me,” said Ez Mil.
EZ Mil went viral with his rap song Panalo with it having over 21 Million views to date with his Wish Bus USA performance. However, the rap artist received criticism for the inaccurate portrayal of Lapu-Lapu’s death, in which he noted on the lyrics that the Filipino hero died of decapitation. He already apologized for the inaccuracy, noting that he wanted to start a discussion.
