Filipino-American rapper EZ Mil said he wants to change the culture of the rap scene in the Philippines.
In a media conference for the rapper, EZ Mil shared the changes he wants to make on the Philippine rap scene, starting with respect for all the artists on the platform.
“It’s the form of respect that goes along with each artist (that is) on the platform. Just the overall reception of everyone,” said EZ Mil.
He also added that everyone in the Philippines should all come together and bring everyone up instead of bringing everyone down.
“We should all be coming together. Angst and like competition will always exist, but I feel like that competition could derive, from–from us, it’s like us against the world, why us against us. So bring everyone up instead of bringing everyone down,” said EZ Mil.
As for his music, he said that he tries to set a different lane for himself. Additionally, he says that he will continue to explore avenues and personalities with the new songs he releases.
“I’m trying out different things and setting a different lane. I will continue to explore different types of avenues, personalities with the new songs that I put out,” said EZ Mil.
In addition to his music, he also expressed interest in acting and appearing on shows.
“I’m definitely interested in the lane of acting and appearing on certain shows,” said EZ Mil.
EZ Mil’s Panalo went viral with the rap song having over 21 million views to date with his Wish Bus USA performance. The rap artist received criticism for the inaccurate depiction of Lapu-Lapu’s death, in which he noted on the lyrics that the Filipino hero died of decapitation. EZ Mil already apologized for the inaccuracy, noting that he wanted to start a discussion.
