With elections just a year away, politicians are gearing up for it. And with the state of the country, Filipinos are looking for someone best fitted to lead the nation.
On Thursday, February 4, the Liberal Party tagged Vice President Leni Robredo as one of their top candidates for the presidency. However, her spokesperson, Atty. Barry Guitierrez explained that the VP is occupied with helping people overcome the challenges given by the pandemic.
Still, people really do want her to consider running for president. As a result of the desire by many Filipinos, the online petition “I Am Ready For Leni” was launched by her supporters, aiming to convince her to run as president in the coming 2022 elections.
Many netizens and celebrities answered the call of the VP’s followers.
Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee signed the petition and encouraged other Filipinos to sign it as well.

Netizen Francis Baraan IV also encouraged other people to sign up. According to him, it is time to change the fascist regime.

Even True Faith’s lead vocalist Medwin Marfil signed the petition. On his Twitter account, he encouraged Filipinos to bring back good governance by persuading Leni Robredo to run for president this coming 2022 elections.

Earlier at 6 a.m. of February 4, 7,000 have already signed the petition. And as of this writing, the number of Filipinos who signed it have reached more than 23,000.
