In a virtual conference for GMA News TV’s upcoming anthology series “My Fantastic Pag-ibig”, former StarStruck contestants Lexi Gonzales and Kim de Leon praised each other for improving their respective selves.
When asked about the changes they have noticed now that they are certified Kapuso artists, both of them shared the same thought—confidence is the key.
For Gonzales, she noticed that her on-screen partner now knows how to carry himself. She also pointed out that since his StarStruck journey, he grew into a person that is oozing with confidence.
“Napansin kong changes ni Kim is how he carries himself. Parang mas confident na siya ngayon. Unlike nung StarStruck mahiya-hiyain pa siya,” Gonzales explained.
The actress also compared that if she will be a regular viewer, she will also notice de Leon’s improvement when it comes to acting. Gonzales also shared that she was shocked at how her on-screen partner could do his job with ease.
“And ngayon grabe, I [don’t] want to say but if I’m a regular viewer sa TV, mapapansin mo talaga na he became better when it comes to acting. And I’m just surprised na parang sobrang dali na lang para sa kanya yung trabaho namin. I mean hindi ko na nakikita na parang nagstu-struggle siya or nahihirapan siya. Ayun, that’s good to see. And I think he’s a better person now and becomes better and better everyday, so yun, nakakaproud,” Lexi added.
De Leon on the other hand said that since both he and Gonzales shared the same journey, from StarStruck to becoming fully-fledged artists, he also noticed that the actress also improved as an actress.
“Ako naman, ganun rin eh, same goes with Lexi. Siyempre kapag…alam mo yung pinagdadaanan…parang medyo similar din kami. Nung una hindi ko ‘to nakikita, yung situation namin, medyo similar din, kaya nakikita ko rin yung growth niya,” said the actor.
The actor also shared his experience with Gonzales during their time as contestants in the reality talent competition. According to de Leon, the actress had been competitive all throughout the show.
“And one thing is yung character niya in terms of…dati kasi nung sa Starstruck syempre competition so parang g na g siya eh, palaban talaga eh. Yung kumbaga maste-stress siya kapag nag as in nag-fail siya,” Kim added.
Furthermore, the actor noticed that his on-screen partner is now chill when it comes to work. He believed that Gonzales trusted the process and now they both reap the success they both worked hard for.
“Ngayon mas okay yung Lexi na chill lang. Kumbaga trusting the process na kahit may konting pagkakadapa syempre babangon. Mas chill na Lexi yun ang mas gusto ko sa kanya ngayon,” Kim ended.
