Kapuso young stars Cassy Legaspi and Joaquin Domagoso shared how they ended up with GMA Network over other TV stations.
According to Cassy, being the daughter of celebrity parents Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi she grew up exposed to guesting with both the Kapuso and Kapamilya networks.
“Growing up naman, I was guesting both in [GMA-7], sa kabila [ABS-CBN],” she said.
However, it was the GMA Artist Center who offered her a contract. And his father who’s already signed with the center also suggested to take the opportunity.
“After some guestings sa kabila, biglang nag-offer ang Artist Center, to sign with them.”
“And my dad was already with Artist Center and he had nothing but good comments to say.”
“So, sabi niya, ‘I suggest, if you want to enter showbiz, you take this opportunity. Pero ‘yun nga, you also take this seriously because this is also your work and this is your future.’
“So, kami ni Mavy, we took some time to really think na, ‘Do we sign with Artist Center?’ So, we gave it a shot.
“Now, I have no regret signing with GMA Artist Center. Super happy ako dito,” Cassey narrated.
Cassy together with her twin Mavy and parents Carmina and Zoren are doing the Kapuso magazine show Sarap, Di Ba? Bahay Edition.
Joaquin Domagoso for his part said he really preferred working with GMA Network.
“Ako, talagang GMA talaga from the start, because bago pa nanalo si Papa [bilang mayor], gusto na ako ng GMA,” he said.
“So, GMA talaga ako kasi. I believe in loyalty,” he added.
Joaquin’s father Mayor Isko is also a homegrown GMA Network talent through the 80’s youth-oriented show That’s Entertainment.
Meanwhile, the two are part of the upcoming series ‘First Yaya’ which stars Gabby Concepcion and Sanya Lopez.
First Yaya was supposed to be Marian Rivera’s TV comeback project but due to the pandemic and taping restrictions, the Kapuso big star begged off with the project and was replaced by Sanya Lopez.
