Not everyone supports the Pacquiao-Duterte tandem this coming 2022 elections—just like Agot Isidro.
In her Twitter account, she wrote that the two names are already making moves, knowing that the election is just a year away.
With that in mind, the actress wished that her fellow Filipinos would be enlightened and choose a better candidate rather than the two.
On February 1, Sara Duterte’s supporters organized a rally, urging her to run for the Presidency. The group even encouraged the public to help them convince the First Daughter to run. In Banawe Street, Quezon City, calendars with the message saying, ‘Duterte as President’–were given away.
To recall, Sara’s father, President Rodrigo Duterte, discouraged her from the idea of running for the highest post. However, she has expressed her intent to run if the opposition would support her.
Meanwhile, the boxer champ-turned-senator, Manny Pacquiao, seemed to be making preparations for the coming election, too. Back in 2020, his former promoter Bob Arum revealed that Pacquiao is thinking of running for a higher position in the government. With his left and right pronouncements, it is more likely that he will team up with Sara Duterte for the 2022 national elections, knowing that they are the favorites.
Moreover, Ilocos Sur’s Narvacan town Mayor Luis ‘Chavit’ Singson is okay with the tandem if they decided to run for the two highest positions.
“If Sara will be the candidate for president and Manny as vice president or vice versa, that is okay with me, but whatever will be the President’s decision, I will have to wait,” said Singson.
What’s your take? Are Pacquiao and Duterte fit to be the next leaders of the Philippines?
