Shortly after the cancellation of the variety show Sunday Noontime Live!, TV5 had another season-ender for its romantic-comedy series Stay-In Love, where singer-young star Maris Racal was the lead star.
After the conclusion of her show, should ABS-CBN viewers expect Racal’s return to ABS-CBN, again?
When she was in TV5, was there any project booked for her?
These were the questions asked to Racal during an exclusive interview with the cast of the recently concluded series, Stay-In Love.
She answered, “Sa line up aspect, yes. Marami pong aabangan ‘yung mga tao.”
The young star did not confirm her return to the Kapamilya network but said she is always open to any possibility.
She was also grateful for the offers she is receiving and said that she will be continuously appearing on the Kapatid network.
“But, sa ABS(-CBN) po is (I’m) open naman. But, very thankful ako na may mga dumadating and same pa rin po na sa TV5 po kami eere. At open naman ako lagi,” said Racal.
When ABS-CBN was forced to shut down its operation in May 2020, Maris Racal was one of the few celebrities who first had TV shows on another network.
She was seen performing in TV5’s now-defunct musical variety show Sunday Noontime Live! with former co-Kapamilya stars Maja Salvador, Piolo Pascual, and Catriona Gray to name a few. The said show was already replaced by ABS-CBN’s ASAP Natin ‘To.
Paired with Kokoy de Santos, Racal debuted her first TV series on the Kapatid network with Stay-In Love. She played Diding, who applied as a maid in a rich family. Helmed by the director Rod Marmol, the series premiered on November 24 last year and lasted until February 16, 2021. It aired every Tuesday with a 9:30 p.m. timeslot as it was part of the network’s Prime Todo evening block.
Before her transfer, Racal was part of the trending ABS-CBN’s drama TV series, Pamilya Ko, starring veteran actors Joey Marquez, Sylvia Sanchez, JM de Guzman, and more. She played Peachy Ann Mabunga, who was a ‘kikay’ daughter, social media, and Internet savvy in the series.
Maris Racal had come a long way since debuting on Pinoy Big Brother: All In in 2014, where she placed second.
She was launched as part of Star Magic Circle 2014 and quickly started on TV shows such as Hawak Kamay, Maalaala Mo Kaya, Ipaglaban Mo!, Oh My G!’ and Ningning.
She also starred in films like Just The Way You Are, Halik sa Hangin, and Breakup Playlist.
Tanong Mo Sa Bituin, Ikaw Lang Sapat Na, and Sugarol were among her hit OPM songs. Recently, she released a new single titled Not For Me.
In 2019, she top-billed a movie for the first time in I’m Ellenya L. after playing supporting roles.
In 2020, she was cast in the movies of Star Cinema’s Block Z and Boyette: Not a Girl Yet and Isa Pang Bahaghari under Heaven’s Best Entertainment.
She was also featured in the iWantTFC original Beauty Queens as Tarsila Zamora Rodriguez.
