Russu Laurente, the “Bunsong Boksingero” of General Santos City, was evicted from PBB: Connect last January 3 after he received 4.39% of the viewers’ votes.
Prior to his eviction, Russu alongside Crismar Menchavez, confessed to Kuya that they were in favor with the shutdown of ABS-CBN.
Netizens found out that he posted a tweet last April 2, 2020, expressing his support for President Rodrigo Duterte’s desire to shut down the Kapamilya network.

He also posted some criticism of some talents of the network.

With his posts on social media, he received flak from netizens since he had the gall to audition for the network’s reality show despite favoring its closure.
However, during an exclusive interview with LionhearTV, the former housemate admitted that since becoming a contestant of PBB, he said that it changed his perception regarding how he uses his social media accounts.
“[At] first hindi ko po agad nache-change the way I post sa social media. Ngayon, kahit papano, inaask ko po muna yung sister ko, sina mama, kung paano or tama ba yung caption ko, or wala ba akong maaapakan, or wala bang masasaktan,” admitted Russu.
With the bashing and criticism from netizens who supported ABS-CBN, Russu learned that it is best to be more careful when writing or posting something on social media.
“Mas naging maingat po,” he added.
