Actress-host Maja Salvador is ‘allegedly’ banned from her former home network, ABS-CBN, after her transfer to TV5 amid the station’s franchise bid in 2020. Speculations that she is currently in talks of transferring to theĀ GMA Network.
Maja has been part of the Kapamilya network and its talent management company Star Magic since she began her showbiz career.
However, in her Instagram post on September 22, 2020, she officially bid farewell to the Kapamilya network and said that she is accompanying her father-figure discoverer Johnny ‘Mr. M’ Manahan. Along with Maja’s transfer, Piolo Pascual followed suit.
Some reports said that ABS-CBN tried to hold on to Salvador by offering her a show on the Network, but she still refused and followed Mr. M.
Maja then became one of the hosts of TV5’s musical variety show Sunday Noontime Live! (SNL) of which Mr. M was a director for a short-lived stint. However, after about three months of airing, SNL was canceled after reportedly not generating enough revenues.
Mr. M has already released his statement regarding the untimely cancellation and said that he was shocked. He also said thatĀ he regretted dragging Piolo and Maja to TV5.
Netizens are closely watching Maja’s move; after the cancellation and speculations that the actress-host has plans of moving to the GMA network.
The rumors of her transfer to GMA Network came after Netizens claimed that ABS-CBN banned Maja Salvador from returning.
According to rumors, Maja received word from Kapamilya executives that she may appear in other Networks. According to the report, the banning of Salvador from ABS-CBN was her departure–it didn’t sit well with the executives.
Contrary to rumors, Maja is not banned from her former home Network as ABS-CBN still posts news articles about her even after her transfer.
Meanwhile, Maja Salvador has an upcoming filmĀ ArisakaĀ with Mikhail Red as her director. The project is Maja’s first time to be working with Red and her second project with Ten17P.
