Journalists have taken to Twitter their reaction to a news report done by GMA News on Wednesday, January 27.
During their report on the progress of Christine Dacera’s case, the TV station, through their reporter Emil Sumangil, have claimed to have an “exclusive” interview with P/Lt/ Col. Hernani Gonzales regarding the Dacera case.
As a result, several journalists gave their reaction towards the “exclusive” claim of their fellow correspondent.

ABS-CBN reporter Raffy Sison Santos tweeted that it should have been inclusive rather than exclusive since other reporters were invited to cover the statement about Dacera’s case.
Pwede naman kami pakiusapan tumabi e 😂

ESPN’s Lyn Olavario chided the Kapuso network’s claim of exclusivity as if the other reporters weren’t around.
Kinilabutan nga ako nung nakita ko mukha ng driver ko eh 😱

Even CNN reporter Anjo Alimario joined Batallones on roasting said journalist saying that even press conferences could be called “exclusive”.
Baka “exclusive” ulit ‘yung press conference ah! 😅

However, based on ABS-CBN reporter Jeck Batallones’ Twitter post, it was evident that it was not an “exclusive” story.

Based on the video and upon reviewing the report, the “exclusive” tag was only used during the medico-legal report. Moreover, it was removed during their interview with P/LT. Col. Gonzales.
An exclusive interview or story is something that other publications or media had no access to. If other media have the same story, then it is not “exclusive”.
