In the press conference for the new GMA News TV offering, The Lost Recipe, Thea Tolentino revealed that her role breaks away from her typical Kontrabida role.
She even joked that she doesn’t try to steal a man from another woman in the series, unlike in her previous roles.
“Malaki po ang kaibahan nito dahil hindi po ako mangaagaw ng lalaki this time,” stressed Thea.
She added that the new Kapuso series has a different take on the typical Filipino teleserye story.
She explained that the series doesn’t feature the same hysterics. Thea became known for her cat-fights.
According to her, The Lost Recipe shows the emotional connection between the characters in the series.
“Iba po yung atake dito. Kagaya po ng nabanggit ko kanina, hindi po sya masyado yung sigawan na puro cat fights. Dito talaga ipapakita namin sa viewers na bawat characters namin talagang emotionally-connected kaming lahat,” Thea pointed.
Tolentino became known for her Kontrabida roles in many Kapuso series such as Dangwa, The Half-Sisters, Asawa Ko Karibal Ko, and Madrasta. She effectively embodies the typical man-stealing antagonist character with her brand of acting.
Thea started her career as one of the second season winners of GMA Network’s reality TV competition, Protegé.
Catch Thea with her refreshing take on her new role with Mikee Quintos, Kelvin Miranda, and Paul Salas in The Lost Recipe, Mondays to Fridays, 8 p.m. starting January 18 on GMA News TV.
