Singer, rapper and producer Jay Das continues his musical ascent with his latest release “Stitches”. With a high-quality upcoming video by its side, both are set for release on December 18th.
Co-produced with Aiden Robert, Jay brings a dark, trap-inspired instrumental made-up of thumping 808s, distorted vocals and haunting synth hits. Well mixed and with a super catchy hook, the melody is punctuated by sharp raps and clever lyrics.
“‘Stitches’ is about dealing with the psychological scars from a toxic relationship,” explains Jay. “Mental abuse is often unnoticed in relationships, and the song talks about confronting this, where moving on is the only remedy.”
Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, Jay’s journey has been global, moving to the US in 2018. From a musical family, Jay’s style and influences are varied, though “Stitches” is more hip-hop-leaning. As his fourth release, it follows up the success of singles like “Change” and “Drop Dead”, while the upcoming video is equally as classy and well-produced as the track itself. Created by Jay’s longtime friend and collaborator Guillermo Viera, it encapsulates the mood and energy of the piece.
With both visual and audio completed to such a high standard, Jay Das is certainly a promising artist for 2021 and beyond.
