On Twitter, Radio host Mo Twister called President Rodrigo Duterte far more rotten than outgoing US President Donald Trump.
His tweet refers to the recent vandalism of Trump supporters who aimed to prevent Joe Biden’s victory to be certified.
He reminded people that despite the atrocity of Trump to not accept his defeat, Duterte is far worse.
Good morning Philippines. You may be watching world news right now as you prep for your day. I’d like to set the tone by reminding you all that while Donald Trump is a rotten man, President Duterte is somehow an even worse human being.
Okay, good talk.

Trump, who instigated the riot, claimed that he was cheated without having any evidence. This caused his supporters to storm the capitol and wreak havoc, postponing the session that would seal the victory of Presidential-elect Biden.
Actress Agot Isidro also chimed in by comparing Duterte to other leaders that uses hate and fear to manipulate people.
On Twitter, she shared a video that showed leaders who used fear in order to accumulate a certain following. It also revealed how these leaders have big egos, make bad decisions, dismissed experts, demonized media, and promised a better life.
Somehow, the description on the video matches the description of the behaviors of Trump and Duterte. Both have big egos, both make bad decisions, both didn’t listen to experts, both terrorized the press, and both promised a better life.
Here are some instances where Pres. Duterte accurately depicted what was said in the video:
Duterte having a big ego
At the time when the healthcare system in the Philippines was on the brink of collapse, the president got mad when medical frontliners pleaded with the government to bring back the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) as coronavirus cases exploded in Metro Manila. Instead of granting their request, he slammed them and told them that all they did was complain. However, he misunderstood the cries of the frontliners who were just suggesting that they put Metro Manila back into ECQ in order to track down the COVID cases which suddenly amassed in the area.
Duterte making bad decisions
Mañanita celebrator Debold Sinas who blatantly violated strict quarantine protocols got promoted instead of facing the consequences of violating the law. This was decided by President Duterte who said that Sinas was competent. The violator was promoted into PNP chief even though there was an investigation regarding his breach of protocol.
Dismissing experts
President Duterte admitted that he is waiting for the vaccine to be available. However, there were many medical experts that are willing to provide their expertise to help the government. This was even suggested by Vice President Leni Robredo who wanted the president to listen to specialists. But Duterte dismissed Robredo’s suggestion by saying that COVID cannot be resolved in a snap.
Terrorized the press
Last 2017, Pres. Duterte threatened that he will shut down ABS-CBN once its franchise expires in 2020. He accused the network that he was not given the airtime he paid for. And true to his words, last year, 2020, the corporate giant lost its franchise after a 70-11 vote against the renewal of its franchise license.
Empty promises
Many promises were not fulfilled by Duterte. Still, the most iconic promise he made was during his first year as a President was that he will eradicate heinous crimes and illegal drugs in the country within the first six months of his administration. However, he, later on, admitted that he couldn’t do so because of high ranking officials involved in the narcotic trades. He also promised that will resign if he couldn’t eliminate the drug menace in the country. It’s already 2021 and he is still the President.
