Jennylyn Mercado joins the call against ‘victim-blaming’ after the flight attendant’s death

Actress Jennylyn Mercado reminded everyone to stop the victim-blaming culture as she calls for justice and truth in the death of the flight attendant Christine Dacera.

Dacera was found lifeless in a hotel in Makati on January 1 and the PNP said that she was a rape-slay victim. However, instead of earning sympathy, she was blamed by some people for trusting her friends and going out with men.

Have a safe flight to heaven Christine.
We will make sure that you get the justice you deserve.
The whole truth will come out.#JusticeForChristineDacera

— jennylyn mercado (@MercadoJen) January 5, 2021

With this, Jennylyn Mercado was outraged and canceled the victim-blaming comments.

She believes that choosing to blame the victim is like siding with the criminal.

Everytime you blame the victim, you take the side of the rapist.

There is no excuse to rape.
Rape exists because of rapists
Stop victim blaming.#JusticeForChristineDacera

“Every time you blame the victim, you take the side of the rapist,” she said.

“There is no excuse to rape. Rape exists because of rapists Stop victim-blaming,” she added.

The actress likewise pointed out that persecution with legit evidence is not right. This was after the PNP released images of the suspects for the alleged rape of Dacera.

Walang due process.
We want justice and the truth. pic.twitter.com/EZAqMvgVmJ

She also disaffirmed a netizen who accused her of jumping to a conclusion of rape without evidence. Mercado then said that she just wants the truth and justice for Dacera. She also said that her call is generalized for all cases.

No.
Ang daming kulang na impormasyon na lumabas. We all want the whole truth and justice for Christine.
This tweet is about those people na ang reaction kaagad ay victim blaming irregardless kung kaninong kaso.

2021 na, may ganyan pa din magisip. Mali. https://t.co/i1zwf1xx6y

Meanwhile, on Tuesday night the autopsy result was released and it turned out that an aortic aneurysm is the cause of Dacera’s death.

It showed how PNP fabricated the rape angle, exposing the innocent friends of Dacera. Mercado believes that all of them are victims of our country’s messed-up system.

Lahat sila ay biktima ng baluktot na systema…
Haay.
