Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque reacted to CNN’s The Source host Pinky Webb‘s hair flip move, which went viral online.
To recall, the Presidential Spox lost his cool during a live interview after Webb referred to him a tweet and asked as to whether he has a comment on the challenge by UP journalism professor Danilo Arao.
Arao’s tweet scrutinized the ‘honor and excellence’ of the UP alumni filling in as top government officials and requested to denounce the abrogation of the 1989 agreement between the Department of National Defense and the University of the Philippines.
FACT-CHECKING MEDIA: It would do well for our friends at @LionHearTVNet to double-check sources of information. Contrary to its report, I did NOT delete my "challenge" tweet (and I have no intention of doing so). What is its basis for claiming that my tweet has been deleted? pic.twitter.com/Gc2a6izjcY

CHALLENGE: UP faculty and alumni who are Duterte’s top-level officials should denounce Lorenzana’s letter terminating the 1989 accord. This disregards everything that UP stands for. Should they remain silent, a six-word question? Where are your honor and excellence?” Arao tweeted.
Roque found the tweet ‘unfair’ and stressed that he is “not duty-bound” to follow anything that Arao says. Webb also clarified her side and said she just read the tweet and asked for his reaction, if he will denounce it.
While the Spox becoming [obviously] irate with every second against the topic at hand, Webb kept her cool and quietly flipped her hair.
This thing went viral online, but Roque shared in an interview with an actress-vlogger that he had no clue he became a trending topic.
Recently, actress Aiko Melendez guested the Presidential Spokesperson in one of her vlogs.
During their ‘question and answer’ session, the actress questioned him about his reaction to the viral hair flip move of Pinky Webb.
The two went laughing as Harry Roque responded to the question, “Well, mabuti may buhok siya.”
He added that he will do the same thing if he has hair.
The Spokesperson likewise explained that he did respond to Webb’s question but later he thought it was an ‘unfair question’.
He even stressed out that for what reason should he comment the ‘God’s appointed guardian of excellence and honor’ matter if he did not have a clue about the person behind that tweet, “So tanong ko, sino siya?”
Roque had long been proud of his University of the Philippines roots where he acquired his law degree. He went through 25 years with UP of which 10 years as an undergraduate student and 15 years as a professor.
Erratum: The publication made the necessary correction on the item that was overlooked and expressed apologies for the oversight. It now says that the tweet was not deleted. The article is now updated with Arao’s tweet.
