January 22nd sees the multi-faceted talent Chris Lee release his latest sleek R&B offering, “Miss”, as well as its accompanying music video.
With an eclectic range of musical influences spanning across multiple decades, Chris Lee has quickly garnered attention for his melodic blend of R&B and hip hop. “Miss” is another fine example of his talent, with his soaring, encapsulating falsetto voice sitting at the forefront of the track. The instrumental blends a dynamic mix of drums, synths and electronic guitar moments, once again showcasing the wide range of sonic influences to his artistry.
Speaking about the track’s influence, Chris said ‘“Miss’ is about not being able to escape that certain someone, even when you know they’re corrupting”.
Born in Augusta, Georgia, Chris Lee’s introduction into music was through his singing at his local church, being the son of a worship leader (his mother) – and quickly moved on to teaching himself drums, piano and guitar.
In 2018, he released his first EP In My Feelings, following this up with his debut album 1000 last year. Since this, the singer has released a steady stream of well-received singles, with the promise of more to follow in 2021.
As well as holding a successful career in music, Chris Lee is also a seasoned actor, singer and dancer – working on shows ranging from Broadway’s iconic play Hamilton to TV shows such as The Chi, S.W.A.T and Whose Line Is It Anyway? He is currently filming for the forthcoming series of hit The CW show, Legacies.
“Miss” is out on January 22nd.
