With the success of her movie Fan Girl, Charlie Dizon’s versatility as an actress was already showcased in the movie. Still, many are curious whether she has plans to venture other sides of the showbiz industry.
In a recent media conference for the upcoming iWantTFC’s newest horror anthology series Horrorscope, Charlie was asked whether she has plans to pursue a more daring role.
In response, the actress who won the Best Actress of the Year award in the 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival admitted that she had no plans in becoming a sexy star. However, she believes in her management that they’ll do what’s best for her career.
“Hindi ko pa po naiisip yun. Pero gusto ko lang din po sabihin syempre na naniniwala po ako sa management ko kung ano ang makakaganda para sa akin,” answered Charlie.
In terms of winning the MMFF2020 Best Actress of the Year, the award-winning actress didn’t really expect that she would win. Still, she prayed that she will be given a chance to prove that she is an excellent actress.
“Pero pinagpepray ko po sya talaga. As in dati pa po. As in nung nagsimula palang ako. And lagi ko rin po syang ine-envision na one day, mananalo ako, or one day may mapapatunayan ako,” the actress said.
However, the actress admitted that she had a hard time getting noticed.
“Kasi yun po talaga yung pinaka nahirapan ako na based sa buhay ko, ang hirap mapansin, ang hirap lahat.”
With her winning the award, let alone against fierce rivals, it is safe to say that she is getting the recognition that she deserves.
This time around, Charlie is part of the upcoming iWantTFC’s anthology series titled Horrorscope. The actress will appear in the “Virgo” episode where she plays the role of PO1 Ronalyn Nieves, a rookie cop who is about to deal with the two biggest choices of her life.
Joining her in the series are Elisse Joson, Iyah Mina, Paolo Gumabao, Patrick Quiroz, and Fino Herrera. Horrorscope is created, produced, and directed by Ato Bautista, who also helmed the “Scorpio” episode in iWantTFC’s Sitsit movie series.
Horrorscope will be available on streaming worldwide on January 13.
