To some, 2020 may have flown by with the pandemic and lockdowns pressing the pause button on everyone’s lives.
From January to August, most countries around the world focused on figuring out ways to recreate what was to relieve the anxieties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. More so with ABS-CBN with all the struggles they faced amidst the pandemic, such as their retrenchment and shutdown.
Now that the ABS-CBN returned to free TV and expanded their digital platforms, Kapamilyas are excited about the programs the media giant has in store.
And now that we are at the last leg of 2020, ABS-CBN already has Kapamilya programs lined up for 2021. Here’s what we know so far…
24/7
Firstly, the Kapamilya network offers 24/7. It stars Julia Montes in this action drama teleserye. The storyline seems a little too close COVID-19 pandemic as it shows the potential chaos that widespread disease can cause.
Init Sa Magdamag
Another teleserye to look out for is Init Sa Magdamag. Top-billed by Gerald Anderson, JM De Guzman, and Yam Concepcion, the cast already began locked-in filming earlier in October.
He’s Into Her
A teleserye halted by the pandemic, He’s Into Her, teased back in November 2019, loosely follows the Wattpad novel of Maxine Lat Calibuso. It stars Belle Mariano and Donny Pangilinan.
Huwag Kang Mangamba
Huwag Kang Mangamba is an inspirational teleserye. Announced last October 2020, it top bills Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Francine Diaz, and Kyle Echarri.
Tanging Mahal
For KathNiel Fans, Tanging Mahal stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. Showrunners expect to air the teleserye this 2021.
Pilipinas Got Talent: Season 7
Although with no additional details, Kapamilya Network has Pilipinas Got Talent: Season 7 lined up for 2021.
Idol Philippines: Season 2
Another reality competition for 2021 from the Kapamilya Network is the Philippine adaptation of Idol Philippines. It has no additional details, but ABS-CBN aims to air its second season in 2021.
Everybody Sing
Everybody Sing is a new community karaoke game show hosted by Vice Ganda. The pandemic and the network’s shutdown halted its productions this 2020. However, the Kapamilya network aims to air it this 2021.
Darna
The Darna franchise flies into Kapamilya TV platforms this 2021 after the network shelved its movie version. Jane De Leon top-bills the iconic role of the superheroine.
Other programs to enjoy this 2021 are either already airing or on its way this December. The most notable programs are Pinoy Big Brother: Connect (December 2020) and La Vida Lena (November 2020).
