Amidst the issue that Star Magic has lost most of its biggest stars due to ABS-CBN shutting down, they still continue to add talents to their roster.
With the ABS-CBN losing its franchise, most of its talents and employees were released as part of their retrenchment program. As a result, several known names of Star Magic decided to leave and be a part of other talent agencies.
Among those stars who left were Julia Barretto who is now under Viva; Bea Alonzo, who for 19 years was a Star Magic talent before getting Shirley Kuan as manager; and; Piolo Pascual who is now being managed by Cornerstone Entertainment.
Despite having these stars leave the talent arm of ABS-CBN, they still continue to add newer ones. In the recent contract signing of Star Magic, the talent agency revealed the new set of stars under their belt. They were introduced during the livestream of Star Magic Shines.
Joseph Marco and JM de Guzman signed exclusive contracts with ABS-CBN. Joseph will be seen on the primetime drama “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin”.
JM de Guzman will be seen in the upcoming drama series “Init sa Magdamag”.
Robi Domingo who is now the host of the popular game show “Game KNB?” as well as “ASAP Natin ‘To”, “Mathdali”, and will be seen as a co-host of “PBB: Connect, also inked an exclusive contract with the Kapamilya Network.
Kira Balinger, who is one of the cast of the drama series “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” also signed an exclusive contract with Star Magic.
Meanwhile, Enchong Dee, Jane de Leon, Andrea Brillantes, and Kim Chiu were also seen in the livestream of Star Magic Shines On as they signed their individual contracts.
Dee will be the star of the drama series “Huwag Kang Mangamba” aside from his co-host gig on “PBB: Connect”.
Jane de Leon will be the star of the coming superheroine series of the Kapamilya network as ABS-CBN announces “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” which is scheduled to be released in 2021.
Andrea Brillantes will be seen in the teleserye “Huwag Kang Mangamba” alongside Enchong Dee.
Among these celebrities, the P-Pop groups BINI and Star Hunt Academy (SHA) Boys also signed their contracts. SHA will debut next year, January 2021 while BINI will debut in February.
