Director Lore Reyes reacted to Robin Padilla’s clamor regarding the choice of entries for Metro Manila Film Festival 2020.
Robin, who is a known DDS, criticized the MMFF for choosing films based on their commercial nature rather than their quality and creativity.
With this, during the virtual mediacon of the MMFF entry Magikland, Reyes was asked about the statement of Robin but he said that he will only agree if Robin is a film expert.
Not from Robin Padilla, excuse me!” Reyes said.
Meanwhile, Robin retracted his statement, after President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his support for MMFF.
So, PEP followed up a question for Reyes about his perception of Robin.
Reyes then replied, “Ahmm… of course, I welcome Robin’s support, ‘no?
Reyes is the executive producer of the movie Magikland which stars by the young artists Miggs Cuaderno, Elijah Alejo, Princess Aliyah Rabara, and Joshua Eugenio.
Magikland is one of the official entries in the MMFF 2020. For the first time, due to the closure of cinemas due to the pandemic, the film fest will be streamed online.
