During a media conference for the newly minted Kapuso actor Richard Yap, he revealed that the talks for his transfer to the GMA Artist Center happened two months ago.
When asked about the start of their negotiations with GMA Network Center, Yap answered that his transfer transpired recently, with the talks between him and the talent management arm happening one to two months ago.
“Actually, bagong bago lang. Siguro a month or two ago lang. Kasi ang dating usapan, wala talagang usapan,” said Yap.
He also took note of his appearances and projects with the GMA Network before his official transfer to the Kapuso family.
“Dati was kinukuha lang nila ako for guesting. So that’s why I guested sa Eat Bulaga. And I did a movie nga with RitKen (Rita Daniela-Ken Chan). Pero aside from that wala pang usapan na kinukuha nila ako to be a Kapuso,” said Yap.
Yap also highlighted the fast-paced negotiations between him and GMA Artist Center as he recalled it happened just a few weeks ago.
“Parang mabilis lang yung pangyayari. Medyo nag-usap kami a few weeks ago and then parang eto na kaagad,” said Yap.
He also highlighted that the Kapuso network offered to give Yap a project last year. But due to his schedule and prior commitments, he had to decline.
“There was an offer for to do a show last year. Late December din of last year. Pero di lang ako pwede because I was doing another show at that time,” Yap added.
From 2018 up to 2019, rumors about his network transfer continually surfaced.
However, his camp did not provide any confirmation to the said rumors. Yap gained popularity for his stint as Sir Chief in the iconic daytime teleserye, Be Careful with My Heart.
