The appeal of Alfred Vargas for people to stop hating his movie has caused several celebrities to point out why he was being hated.
Pia Magalona, the wife of the legendary Francis Magalona, on her Twitter account posted the reason his movie is being affected by his decision regarding the franchise renewal application of ABS-CBN.
She wrote that he had the power to vote in favor of the network but chose to inhibit. For netizens and other celebrities, inhibition is as good as not voting in favor of the franchise renewal.

What’s worse is that Vargas is using his stand on the franchise renewal as a way to promote his movie, ‘Tagpuan‘ which really disgusted many netizens and celebrities.
Writer Jerry B. Grácio even quoted a Bible verse in relation to what Vargas has done.

Amidst the hate and ‘concerns’ that he is trying to address as people try to discredit his movie, the actor-politician even had the audacity to promote the said movie.
“I believe I have a good film. Let’s be wary of fake news. It’s about time we learn how to discern,” he declared.
Vargas was among those who chose to inhibit themselves from voting in favor or against ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal. However, the network helped his showbiz career to flourish and establish himself as an actor.
