With the premiere of ABS-CBN’s 2020 Christmas station ID, Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya, comedian Vice Ganda posted an emotional message for the Kapamilya network via Twitter.
On his account, Vice posted an art-card with a letter format addressing ABS-CBN. The message started with a typical greeting before recounting ABS-CBN’s journey.
“Dear ABS-CBN,
Saksi ako sa dami ng iyong pinagdaanan ngayong taon,” wrote Vice.
Then, Vice recounted all of the struggles ABS-CBN had to face this year.
“Pinahirapan ka. Binugbog. Pinagtulungan. Patuloy na sinipa habang duguang nakahandusay. Pinipilit kitilin ang buhay. Naghingalo ngunit di namatay,” wrote Vice.
Finally, Vice finished his letter by highlighting ABS-CBN’s recovery after all the struggles this year. He also lauded the network for continuing to shine despite the issues they faced.
“Sasamhan kita sa iyong pagbangon. Sa iyong pagpapalakas. At sa muli mong paglipad. Binabati kita! Kahit binalot ka ng dilim ay patuloy kang nagniningning! Mahal na Mahal kita!” wrote Vice.

In 2020, Congress denied ABS-CBN’s franchise resulting in retrenchment of employees and assets of the network.
Despite lacking any proven misconduct, 70 solons proceeded with the kill-vote to deny the ABS-CBN franchise filed back in 2014. The Kapamilya network moved to digital platforms and has now returned to free TV thanks to the ABS-CBN and Zoe TV channel 11 block time deal.
However, some lawmakers are still trying to get the Kapamilya Network off the air.
