A PBB-inspired Barangay Hall is currently drawing attention on social media.
Located at Brgy. San Miguel in Iligan City, the newly inaugurated Brgy. Hall is making a buzz on social media for looking identical to the most famous house in the country, the Pinoy Big Brother house.
According to several Facebook posts, the Brgy. Hall cost 5 million pesos which was funded by Iligan City Congressman Frederick Siao.
Siao in his own Facebook page also proudly shared the project seemingly forgetting that PBB is under ABS-CBN, the network which he and other 69 congressmen killed in July.
“Ipasigarbo lang nako ang murag PBB House nga bag-ong barangay hall sa San Miguel. Hapit na gyud ni mahuman!” Siao wrote.

Siao was one of the 70 House lawmakers who voted to reject the ABS-CBN franchise application last July 10 forcing ABS-CBN to lay off the majority of its employees at the end of August.
That’s why it’s very ironic that he was so proud of the PBB-inspired Brgy. Hall when he himself took part in the killing the ABS-CBN franchise which produces the Pinoy Big Brother program.
This might prove that the vote against ABS-CBN was commanded by certain politicians and not based on the appreciation of the facts at the franchise hearing.
ABS-CBN has been in shutdown since May following the expiration of their franchise. The network’s hope for a new franchise meanwhile was killed during the franchise application voting in July after 70 congressmen voted against it.
With the Kapamilya network out with no franchise, they’ve concentrated on digital platforms which they are currently dominating. They’re also partially back on free TV via their block time deal; with A2Z channel 11.
