During the Pinoy Big Brother: Connect Day 11 episode, viewers saw the emotional side of the Charming Striker of Parañaque, Kobie Brown.
Kuya’s task had the PBB housemates talk about the pictures of the person they idolize, printed on the shirt that they will receive.
When Kobie received his shirt, he suddenly got emotional, seeing the photo of his father.
He introduced his dad as his idol. Then he added that he became a football player because of his dad.
“This is my Dad. This guy, this guy has been my idol forever, since I am a kid. He’s the reason I’ve wanted to play football. He’s the reason I play football. Since I was four years old, he has been my coach. He’s been my biggest inspiration,” said Kobie.
Kobie then told the housemates about his parent’s divorce and how it affected his mom.
“My parents, four years ago they divorced. I’ve always thought when I was younger, their relationship was good.”
“I was mad at my dad for five months. I didn’t talk to him for five months.”
“My mom was crying every night, every night about this divorce. I was mad at my dad for that. How can you make my mom, she’s my rock, how could you make her cry. So I didn’t wanna talk to him. I ended up forgiving him,” said Kobie.
Then, Kobie revealed that his dad disapproved of his PBB audition and even considered him an embarrassment to their family.
“Recently, when I told him, I said, Dad, dad I want to audition for PBB, it’s my dream, Dad. He said, Kobie, that’s the stupidest idea I’ve heard in my life. Kobie, you’re wasting your time. Kobie, don’t bring it up again.”
“To hear those words from my idol is heartbreaking.”
“One day, I saw my dad messaging my mom. My mom was the only person who supported me in this talaga. The words I saw on the phone were, ‘Kobie is an embarrassment to the family,'” Kobie narrated.
Finally, Kobie added that he wants his father to understand that joining PBB was his dream.
“I didn’t come here to prove my dad wrong or anything like that. I wanna show him that I am doing something good, that this is my dream.”
“I hope he’s watching this and I hope he understands,” said Kobie.
Kobie is one of the fourteen housemates who auditioned in PBB out of the 177,000 auditionees. Additionally, there are also aspiring housemates waiting to get in the PBB house.
