While most nations focus on the procurement and administration of the COVID-19 vaccine, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III went to BGC, Taguig.

His purpose was to measure social distancing amongst shoppers in the area.

Because of that, celebrities and netizens took to Twitter to poke fun at Duque’s initiative, highlighting that he should have focused on securing the COVID-19 vaccine instead.

Here are some tweets from our celebrities.

Actor-writer Juan Miguel Severo sarcastically wrote that Duque was trying to show the public that he is doing his job.

Then, actor Paolo Pangilinan only had ‘mhie’ as his comment implying his disbelief with Duque’s initiative.

Then, actor John Lapus asked what kind of foolishness is he seeing.

Actress-singer Chai Fonacier asked about Duque’s intentions.

Then, singer Kean Cipriano highlighted the worsening state in the Philippines. He also cited how other nations are focusing on vaccine procurement. Then, Kian called out Duque’s attempt to increase his visibility among the public. He also highlighted that the Health Secretary should have more impactful initiatives for the country, especially with the COVID-19 response.

Malala na talaga dito satin.

Yung ibang bansa, Busy sa pag asikaso ng vaccine at kung paano masosolusyonan yung pandemic.

Si Sec. Duque nagsusukat ng social distancing. Para san? Para may pang post sa social media?

Aren’t you supposed to do bigger moves for the country? https://t.co/C1B9yJuiAE

Pia Magalona asked why Duque was putting the measuring stick near the private parts of the shoppers.

Reporter Jeff Canoy expressed his disbelief over Duque’s initiative with the word ‘I’m.’

Finally, journalist Barnaby Lo reminded Duque of his position as Health Secretary and not a school principal.

Several government officials called for his resignation from the Health Secretary post because of his failures during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, President Rodrigo Duterte kept on condoning Duque’s actions. Earlier this December, Senator Panfilo Lacson accused Duque of ‘dropping the ball’ with the 10 million Pfizer vaccine deal, delaying its delivery to the Philippines.
