After she declined her contract renewal with GMA Network, rumors that Janine Gutierrez’s transfer to ABS-CBN surfaced.
Firstly, the 31-year-old actress has nine years of showbiz experience under GMA7 with her lead roles in Dangwa, Dragon Lady, and Legally Blind. Recently, she bagged Best Actress awards from Gawad Urian 2020 and FAMAS 2020 for her portrayal in the award-winning film, Babae at Baril.
Because of the rumor and her acting prowess, many speculate that ABS-CBN is eyeing her as the next Valentina in their upcoming teleserye adaptation of the iconic Filipina heroine, Darna starring Jane De Leon.
Both GMA Network and ABS-CBN have yet to confirm the rumors of her transfer. Janine also remained mum on the transfer.
However, if she transfers and receives an offer to portray Valentina, will she take on the iconic role that her grandmother, Pilita Corales, once took on in the 1994 film Darna, Ang Pagbabalik?
