Seven Filipino celebrities took a spot in the Forbes’ list of Asia’s 100 Digital Stars.
On Tuesday, Forbes Asia named the Top 100 Digital Stars who are Music, Film, and TV figures across the Asia-Pacific region and have been an immense influence on digital platforms.
The inaugural list paid attention to stars who sparked hope amidst the pandemic and who have been tirelessly contributing to society by raising awareness and essential causes.
Among them are Filipino celebrities Marian Rivera-Dantes, Kathryn Bernardo, Angel Locsin, and Anne Curtis.
Aside from them, Vice Ganda, Kim Chiu, and Sarah Geronimo also made it to the list.
Celebrity mom Marian was dubbed as the Philippines’ most popular personality on Facebook with 23 million followers.
Young actress Bernardo was recognized due to her acting stints for the past two years, in which she was awarded as the Film Actress of the Year and Phenomenal Star of Philippine Cinema, during the Box Office Entertainment Awards in Manila.
Someone who is not new on the list by Forbes is Locsin. To recall, Forbes also named her as one of the “Heroes of Philanthropy” in their list last year. Recently, she raised 11.3 million pesos that was used to set up 246 hospital tents.
Forbes also recognized Anne Curtis’s and Vice Ganda’s roles in the hit 2019 film The Mall, The Merrier.
Chiu used her viral ‘Bawal Lumabas’ gaffe as an opportunity to raise funds for pandemic relief. Just like her, Geronimo also raised about five million dollars through a benefit concert.
The list was based on the personalities’ social media influence and advocacy, especially amidst the pandemic.
