December 18th, 2020 – Singapore – Mandopop star Eric Chou has released his latest single “如果能幸福” (“Fortunate”), the theme song for HBO Asia original series “Adventure of the Ring”.
Based on mathematician and author Lai I-Wei’s romance novel Ring of the Day, “Adventure of the Ring” tells the stories of different couples who come in contact with an engagement ring. Starring Chris Wang (“Time Traveler”, “Love Family”) as Yi-Zhi, a baseball-loving actuary, and Allison Lin (HBO Asia Original “The World Between Us”, “Family Time”) as Lisa, his free-spirited flight attendant girlfriend, the adventure begins on the morning of Yi-Zhi’s meticulously planned proposal when he misplaces the ring on the train. While the search for the ring continues, Yi-Zhi and Lisa re-examine their future and what love means to them as the ring travels through the hands of other couples.
Together with the remarkable release of his limited edition double album ‘When We Were Young + Freedom’, “Fortunate” bookends what has been an exciting 2020 for Chou, in spite of the unforeseen pandemic. Upon release, ‘When We Were Young’ hit #1 on over 50 charts worldwide. In addition, Chou made his authorial debut with ‘Those Unspoken Words’, a collection of prose which has since seen four reprints thanks to overwhelming demand. Chou has also been featured in TIME Magazine as the first artist to host a concert with 10,000 attendees since the COVID-19 outbreak. Not only was he the only Taiwanese artist selected for this year’s virtual YouTube Fanfest, he also won his second Artist of the Year nod at the KKBOX Music Awards, making him the youngest two-time recipient of the award.
