At the media conference of Net 25’s musical sitcom, Kesayasaya starring Robin Padilla and his former love team partner Vina Morales, LionhearTV had the chance to ask the two what made them decide to accept this project and what did they find special with Kesayasaya.
Vina proudly revealed that ex-boyfriend Robin was one of her reasons for doing Kesayasaya, “Hindi ako nag dalawang isip na ng inooffer sa aking ng Net 25. Nag Tagisan ng Galing ako and when they offerd it to me. Oh my god You know I haven’t work with Robin for a long time.So when it was mentioned to me, uh pag Robin naman bakit ka naman hi hindi di ba.”
Also, Vina added that she relates to the sitcom especially that she’s a Bisaya and she knows how to sing, “And then and ganda din ng role ko eh, I can also relate eh so Bisaya kame ni Tita Pilita Corrales.”
Vina plays the role of Katrina Morales or Miss K, the talented singer-chef who herself is also an OFW working in hotels abroad in Singapore.
She is the eldest daughter of Mommy Gladys or Mommy G which will be played by Pilita Corrales who herself is a former OFW.
Robin, on the other hand, chose to work on Kesayasaya due to his dedication to helping Overseas Filipino Workers.
“Ako sa akin, una nilang sinabi sa akin musical sitcom medyo naurong ako nun ng konti kase di naman ako singer pero nung binanggit niya na para sa OFW and si Vina yung makakasama aba okay yan.”
“Alam mo umabot na ako sa punto na, di naman sa tinatamad na gumawa kundi meron akong mga gustong gawin, kung ba balansehin natin yung mga nagawa ako na ayaw ko ng gawin.”
Robin plays Ricardo “Carding” Magtanggol, an OFW who worked as a foreman in Saudi Arabia.
His role will center on helping his family out while also planning to marry his fiancee, Miss K.
“So para sa akin yung mga bago ang gusto kong gawin. Matanda na ako kaya kailangan kong gawin yung mga bago.
“Kaya nung sinabi nilang musical sitcom sabi ko bago to pero hindi naman ako singer pero nung sinabi nila si Vina di pa nga kame nag sama kahit nag duet sa TV di pa kame nag sama. Kaya natutuwa ako dito kase nag explore ang ginintuang tiig.”
Kesayasaya! is Eagle Broadcasting Corporation’s NET 25 new offering which honors the Filipino families and the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) every Sunday night.
It features the return of the Robin Padilla-Vina Morales team-up, as well as “Asia’s Queen of Songs” Pilita Corrales, one of the pillars of Philippine music and praised internationally for her performances abroad.
