Kapuso artist Janine Gutierrez decided to leave the GMA network which was her home for 9 years and will be transferring to its rival network, ABS-CBN in 2021 despite the network currently not having its franchise.
Previously, ABS-CBN was denied its franchise application bid by lawmakers which forced the network to shut down. Several artists of ABS-CBN had already decided to leave the network and transfer to its rival networks like GMA Network and TV5 network. But Gutierrez went against the trend as she decided to enter the network amid its shut down.
Gutierrez’s contract with GMA Network’s talent management agency ended last November 1, 2020.
It was reported that the 31-year-old actress made a great leap with her showbiz career and decided to transfer to ABS-CBN. She will be having her first project under Kapamilya Network in January 2021 which will also be the official announcement of her transfer to ABS-CBN.
Gutierrez’s contract signing with the Kapamilya Network will take place on the second week of January 2021.
Prior to her decision to leave her home network, it can be noted that Janine had no recent shows under the GMA Network. Her last project was in 2019 where she starred in the title role ‘Dragon Lady.’
The actress has been with the Kapuso network as a contract artist for 9 years starting from 2011 until 2020. Her manager was Leo Dominguez who has helped her throughout her career along with the GMA Artist Center.
Janine Gutierrez is known for her roles in several GMA series such as Dangwa (2015), Encantadia (2016), Victor Magtanggol (2018), and Daddy’s Gurl (2019). She fetched back-to-back best actress awards this year for her lead role in “Babae at Baril,” from Gawad Urian and FAMAS.
She is currently in a relationship with Rayver Cruz who is a Kapuso artist. Rayver was once a talent of ABS-CBN until he transferred to the GMA network in September 2018.
