A congresswoman is receiving hate from netizens after she supported the shutdown of ABS-CBN yet has a representative in the network’s reality show PBB: Connect.
Congresswoman and Zamboanga Representative Divina Grace Yu drew flak as she showed her support for a candidate for the reality show.
In a Facebook post on her page, Cong. Yu congratulated Gerry Paglinawan for having a son who’s about to enter PBB: Connect namely Januarius Paglinawan.
She may have good intentions but netizens didn’t forget that she was among those who wanted ABS-CBN shut down.
As a result, netizens called her ‘hypocrite’ for supporting a possible housemate in the network that she had a hand in closing.
@PJHiz that the congresswoman is a hypocrite and does not know what she’s doing since she voted ‘yes’ to the media’s shutdown.

@croft1981 agreed with the Twitter user stating that there were many of them who took part in the network’s termination but had the audacity to ask for an interview and air time in the network which they took down.
Madami sila na makakapal. Na after voting yes to abs cbn shutdown, eh humihingi ng airtime to be interviewed, at nanonood ng kapamilya shows! Hindi yan kakapalan ng mukha ata, kaduwagan tawag diyan. Pressured to vote yes!

@iamgabbysn even tagged the show’s Twitter account saying that the politician should be ashamed.

@Dement0r_N sarcastically tweeted that he is a proud Zambosurian, after he reposted the post of Kapamilya Universe.

Congresswoman Divina Grace Yu was among the 70 politicians who denied the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN. She was proud of such a feat that she posted it on her social media account with the guts to say that she’s a die-hard Kapamilya yet voted for its closure.
Her move is just like Iligan City Congressman Frederick Siao who was among those who killed the network by voting towards its franchise denial. Cong. Siao funded a PBB-themed barangay hall which went viral on Facebook.
Both politicians were proud to share their ‘achievements’ on social media, conveniently forgetting their hand in the franchise’s demise.
