PHILIPPINES, NOVEMBER 19, 2020 – Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video streaming service operated by Viu International Limited and the go-to digital platform for Korean Dramas, is going to make K-Drama more accessible to Filipinos with their launch of Tagalog-dubbed content beginning this month.
Since its launch in 2016, Viu Philippines has always been listening to Filipino K-Drama fans. With the non-stop growth in interest for K-Drama, Viu realized that there are still fans who prefer to watch the dubbed versions than to read subtitled K-Dramas. To answer their request, Viu has decided to localize K-Dramas by dubbing them in Tagalog for more Filipinos to enjoy, kicking off with “Emergency Couple” and “When the Weather is Fine”.
“Emergency Couple” is a romcom about two exes. Years after their very messy married life that quickly ended in a divorce, Oh Jin Hee (Song Ji Hyo) and Oh Chang Min (Choi Jin Hyuk) meet again as fellow interns at a hospital emergency room. The drama stars Song Ji Hyo of “Running Man” and Choi Jin Hyuk who recently starred in “Zombie Detective”.
“When the Weather is Fine” is a healing love story about a city girl who returns to the province after getting burnt out in Seoul. Back in her hometown, Mok Hae Won (Park Min Young) becomes closer to her neighbor and high school classmate, Im Eun Seob (Seo Kang Joon) who happens to be harboring feelings for her since childhood. The drama stars Park Min Young of “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” and Seo Kang Joon of “Are You Human?”
New episodes will be available for FREE every Friday and Saturday beginning November 20 on Viu.
