Elections are still some ways away but some politicians seem to be jumpstarting their campaigns already.
Manny Pacquiao’s photo circulated on the internet as he conducted a “campaign” in Batangas. The photo was taken from his wife Jinkee Pacquiao’s IG stories.
As a result, netizens and personalities concluded that Pacquiao is getting ready for the 2022 elections.
Twitter user @ChinoCruise shared screenshots from Jinkee’s IG story. The photo showed that hundreds, even thousands attended the gathering.

Former PTV-4 news anchor, Jules Guiang, on his Twitter account, retweeted the photo of Pacquiao which was recently taken from his wife’s IG story.
“Uy si Fighting ‘President’ nangangampanya na haha,” he wrote.

Some even pointed out the fact that there is still a pandemic yet politicians such as Pacquiao conducted mass gatherings for their own political ambition. @rryyyaaaannnn wrote, “So lumabag din pala si Manny Pacquiao. Wow. Iba talaga pag ang inuuna pamumulitika ano?”

@cofiboiX pointed the breach of health protocol by the senator. He wrote, “WTF. Hello @pnppio, bakit may mass gathering po si @MannyPacquiao? Isn’t this a violation of the IATF guidelines?”
For @lamighangin, he wanted those agencies tasked to apprehend protocol violators such as politicians who do not obey health policies.
The Twitter user wrote, “Ano na @ntfcovid19ph @senatePH @pnppio @DOJPH apply the law?”

Pacquiao for President?
Recently, Bob Arum claimed that Manny Pacquiao is thinking of running for president in the 2022 election. He narrated that he had a Zoom call with the senator. He also stated that Pacquiao wanted him to be there when he wins the presidential seat.
“I did a Zoom telephone call with him, ‘Bob, I’m gonna run in 2022 and, when I win, I want you there at my inauguration,” Arum said.
However, not everyone is convinced that the senator would be qualified to become a president. For them, he still needs to prove something as a lawmaker rather than a boxing-senator.
For @MaamSyj, Senator Pacquiao doesn’t have the qualifications to run as a president. The fact remains that the senator did not prove anything as a legislator and it for her, it will be the same if he becomes a president.
“Pakiexplain po sa mga fans nung boxer na di porke sikat siya worldwide bilang atleta, pwede na siya mag-ambisyon sa pinakamataas na posisyon. Wala nga siyang napatunayan bilang mambabatas e.”

Pacquiao helps those in Brgy. Banyaga, Agoncillo, Batangas
The claims that Pacquiao was conducting an electoral campaign are false as he only visited Brgy. Banyaga, Agoncillo in Batangas to extend his help toward the residents. The barangay which Pacquiao visited was heavily affected by the eruption of Taal last January and also by Typhoon Ulysses. It was in fact a part of his relief operations regarding those affected by the super typhoon.
Almost 3,000 residents received help from the “FIghting Champ”. The Senator donated 2,000 food packs, 1,000 medicine kits, 2,000 Go Marinado packs, and P1,000 cash aid for the 3,000 beneficiaries.
Unfortunately, his arrival resulted in people gathering without any proper health protocols.
His intentions may be good, but will those residents be safe after not observing social distancing?
