Nadine Lustre’s latest cosplay is so on point that a prominent video game director has just given her the seal of approval.
After dressing up as Josie Rizal, the first-ever playable Filipino character in a popular video game, Nadine got the nod of approval from Tekken director Katsuhiro Harada.
On Twitter, Katsuhiro Harada reposted the viral tweet showing Lustre’s cosplay side by side with the character portrait of Josie Rizal.
“Perfect” Katsuhiro Harada uttered.

Instagram followers of Andrei Suleik gushed over Nadine’s look.
The costume with its distinctive red, yellow, and blue motif, was created by costume designer Christian Mark Rodil.
Josie Rizal of Tekken was introduced back in 2015 as the first Filipino playable character in the video game series. Adept at Arnis-based kickboxing, Josie also moonlights as a model.
Josie Rizal’s addition to the roster of characters from Tekken also got mixed reactions. A University of the Philippines professor earlier referred to the move by Bandai Namco as “offensive” and “too tokenist.”
“It’s offensive and unsuited for a big company like Bandai because they have the money to do research, All it takes is probably an interview with one historian on Rizal,” Gonzalo Campoamor II, professor of Life and Works of Rizal in UP Diliman, told The STAR.
Harada planned to almost delete the character but was advised by several netizens to ignore the comments as they demonstrated their support for the Filipino character.
