Star Cinema is set to line produce a series that will soon air on TV5.
During the virtual media conference with Star Cinema Managing Director Olivia Lamasan, she shared that Star Cinema will be line producing a show with Brighlight Productions that will be aired on TV5.
Brighlight Production is currently in a block time agreement with the Kapatid Network.
The series has the working title of Love On The Move which will focus on the stories of food delivery drivers.
Lamasan shared that the project was intended to help artists and former Kapamilya employees who lost their jobs following the network’s free TV shutdown and rejection of their franchise application.
“We are line producing that. It’s a venue for us to also build our Rise artists.
“Kumuha kami ng mga tao na nawalan—iyong mga dating nagtatrabaho sa ABS na nawalan ng trabaho.
“Kaya ako, grateful ako, isa iyan sa mga blessings, isa iyan sa mga projects na dapat ma-celebrate kasi it was able to give jobs to those na na-displace,” said Lamasan.
She also shared that it was ABS-CBN COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes who pitched the concept to Brightlight and fortunately was accepted.
“Kami lang, kasi we pitched, nag-pitch ng mga konsepto at konsepto namin ang nakuha.
“That’s why we’re line producing it, kaya Star Cinema ang nagla-line produce together with ABS-CBN, may blessing ng ABS-CBN,” Lamasan said
She added that the series will have 13 episodes which will focus on the stories of food delivery drivers.
“So, ayun, lock in rin, ang cute ng kuwento, e, kasi there are four stories in one.
“It’s a 13-episode series and you have four love stories. Kuwento siya ng mga food delivery drivers,” she added.
Some of the Kapamilya artists that will be featured in the upcoming series are Elmo Magalona, JC Alcantara, Elisse Joson, Karina Bautista, Aljon Mendoza, Vivoree Esclito, Patrick Quiroz, Kaori Oinuma, and Jeremiah Lisbo.
Several Kapamilya stars are now seen on TV5 via a number of Brighlight Production shows. Piolo Pascual, Catriona Gray, and Maja Salvador top-bill its Sunday variety show Sunday Noontime Live directed by Star Magic Chairman Emeritus Johnny Manahan. Billy Crawford, Alex Gonzaga, K Brosas, and Bayani Agbayani meanwhile host the daily noontime show Lunch Out Loud.
Bobot Mortiz meanwhile directs the Gag Show Sunday Kada Sunday featuring Jayson Gainza, Miles Ocampo, and Jerome Ponce.
Beauty Gonzalez, RK Bagatsing, and Jane Oineza and Dimples Romana and Ian Veneracion were cast in a rom-com drama series and a sitcom respectively.
