At the press conference for the action series Bella Bandida, lead actress Ryza Cenon revealed that she idolizes Angel Locsin as a Female Action Star Icon.
Aside from Angel, Ryza also idolizes Avenger actress Scarlett Johannson in terms of strong, empowered women in the action genre.
She also felt pressured to keep up with the iconic female stars who took on action roles both in Philippine TV and Cinema, such as Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes.
“Nakakapressure naman po. Sila Miss Anne, Ate Angel, Cristine sa Maria sila yung mga nag-action talaga so parang nakakapressure na kasama ka na don. So sana maging maganda po yung kalabasan ng Bella, na hindi ako mapahiya,” said Ryza.
Angel and Ryza were in the ABS-CBN’s action drama teleserye, The General’s Daughter, wherein Ryza took on the role of 2nd Lt. Jessica ‘Jessie’ De Leon.
Ryza plays the iconic role of Bella Bandida. The new TV5 offering highlights women empowerment through the superheroine envisioned by National Artist Francisco V. Conching.
It will also star AJ Muhlach and Josef Elizalde. The action-packed series premieres this November 25, 9:30 PM, on TV5 and airs every Thursday.
