In an exclusive interview with Myrtle Sarrosa, she shared 8 milestones throughout her Showbiz career that she will never forget.
Firstly, she listed her win in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 4. Myrtle noted that she didn’t expect that she would win.
“The first memory na hinding hindi ko makakalimutan was when I won Pinoy Big Brother. To be honest di ko akalain na ako yung mananalo nung big night nung season 4 ng PBB Teen Edition,” said Myrtle.
Secondly was when local media platforms covered her graduation as a Cum Laude at the University of the Philippines. She took up Broadcast Communications and graduated in 2017. Myrtle said that the local media’s gesture made her feel special again.
“The second would be when I graduated cum laude sa U.P and then lahat nung mga media platforms was there to cover it. Kasi for a while nawala ako sa industry tapos akala ko parang no one would care. And then biglang nakita ko na lang na ganon, yung Lionheart nakita ko. Yung iba’t ibang news reporters nandun to cover and to interview me. So during that time, parang it made me feel special once again,” Myrtle recounted.
Then, she listed her stint on Your Face Sounds Familiar in 2015, which helped her grow as a performer.
“The next moment that I would not forget was when I got to be a part of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’. I think yun ata yung naging growing ko eh. Kasi before very shy ako in performing and everything. I am more introverted,” said Myrtle.
The next two things she recalled were her stint with FHM Magazine and as a Ginebra Calendar Girl. She became the male magazine’s cover girl in 2014, while she became a Ginebra Calendar Girl in 2018. She highlighted that she feels proud of both milestones, especially with her Ginebra Calendar Girl stint as she is a fan of the company herself.
“Yung susunod na moment na di ko makakalimutan. Di ko to makakalimutan kasi di ko rin aakalain na gagawin ko sya eh. Na nag-cover ako sa FHM and Ginebra. Those are two things na di ko inexpect sa sarili ko. Ako sa sarili ko I would consider myself as a geek.
“Ito yung mga di mo aakalain. People would consider you as someone who is sexy, someone who’s confident. For me kasi, its something to be proud of, it means that they consider you someone of value. Lalo na yung Ginebra calendar girl. One of the biggest things na pinagmamalaki ko. Cause fan ako ng Ginebra and lahat nung naging mga calendar girl nila became very successful,” said Myrtle.
Her next milestone would be her album with Ivory Music. She highlighted how the music label trusted her and believed in her 2016 album.
“When I got the chance to write my own album. Kasi Ivory music trusted me to write my own songs and they believed in me to have my own album,” said Myrtle.
Then her next milestone is with her stint with Regal Entertainment wherein she top-billed movies such as Papa Pogi, Wander Bra, and Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love in 2019.
“My first top-billing role sa Papa Pogi sa Regal, Wander Bra, and Ang Henerasyong Sumuko sa Love. So that happened a year ago. 2019. I never expected that I would be a lead in different movies. Kaya grateful ako na naging Regal Baby ako tapos ang dami nilang binibigay na work,” said Myrtle.
Finally, her most memorable milestone is her move to GMA Network. Myrtle highlighted how the Kapuso Network believed in her and says that she finally found a home that is meant for her. Myrtle moved to the Kapuso network this February 2020.
“Most importantly ata sa buong career ko. I think what would be the most memorable right now is being a part of GMA. Nung tinanggap nila ako as a Kapuso Artist, I think I am the most blessed person in the world kasi yung pagiging consistent mo in this career, di mo s’ya maa-assure eh.
“When they told me that they really believed in me, sabi ko I think this is the home that is meant for me. Na for the past few years hindi ko pa nahahanap, na parang finally I found a place where I belong. So I think now would be the best part of my career,” said Myrtle.
