Singer-actor Matteo Guidicelli shared he got emotional during his recent return to ABS-CBN.
During an online press conference, Guidicelli disclosed that he was able to finally set foot at ABS-CBN again for the taping of the Kapamilya Online Live talk show I Feel U with Toni Gonzaga.
Matteo said he’s very thankful to Toni for the invitation to be his co-host.
“I’m very, very thankful to Toni Gonzaga for inviting me to co-host with her,” he said
He also mentioned that he’s happy to see people from the production that he used to work with although they are fewer now given all the challenges that beset the Kapamilya network.
“It’s very nice. It’s nice because nakita ko ‘yung ibang mga taga-production, na ang tagal naming hindi nagkita. Kaso lang, kaunti na sila,” he added
Meanwhile, Matteo also narrated how he turned emotional as he entered the ABS-CBN compound again adding he thought he won’t be able to go back to his former home network.
“I’m very, very thankful. Talagang naging emotional nga ako noong pumasok ako sa basement at umakyat ng second floor at pumunta sa dressing room.
“Sabi ko, ‘Akala ko talaga, hindi na ako makakapasok dito, e.’” Matteo continued.
Matteo pushed his showbiz career with ABS-CBN in 2006 under Star Magic. His most notable Kapamilya projects were Agua Bendita, My Binondo Girl, Dolce Amore, ASAP, and his last project, Bagani in 2018.
However, he was widely criticized on social media for silence during the height of the ABS-CBN franchise renewal hearings. He was one of those Kapamilya celebrities who were called out by the netizens for being mum on the issue.
Meanwhile, Matteo is now with TV5 as part of the reality singing competition Masked Singer Pilipinas.
In the same virtual press conference, Matteo also shared that it still feels like ABS-CBN since most of the production people are from the Kapamilya network also.
“Puro ABS-CBN naman doon, e. Masaya pa rin naman. We still see the same faces.
“At the end of the day, the world is round, and we’re all going to see each other again,” Matteo narrated.
