In a recent media conference, actress Marian Rivera-Dantes stated her reason she opted out of the leading role in GMA’s upcoming series, First Yaya.
According to Marian, the story of Kapuso’s upcoming series was made especially for her. However, due to the pandemic and being a mother, she prioritized her children’s safety.
“…pero syempre bilang sa hindi inaasahang nangyari, may pandemya tayo, siguro kahit sino namang nanay, iisipin muna yung kaligtasan niya para sa kaligtasan ng mga anak nya,” she said.
Moreover, one of the reasons that she backed out from the role is that her second child, Sixto, is still being breastfed and she doesn’t want to risk getting sick because of how the schedule of the taping for First Yaya will eat up most of her time.
“…especially kasi sa taping ng First Yaya kung hindi ako nagkakamali, mga ilang araw, parang 15 days na walang uwian tapos magrerest for 2 days tapos babalik. Sabi ko paano ko gagawin yun? Kahit mag-pump ako at ibigay ko yung milk ko, baka pagdating sa anak ko, panis na di ba?,” said the actress.
When asked what she felt when she was informed that Sanya Lopez will replace her on the teleserye, Marian said that she was very grateful that at least it will still continue despite her not being in it.
“Ako, okay naman ako. Kahit sinong pumalit sakin sa First Yaya ay okay ako. Walang problema sa akin dahil ako naman ang umayaw at alam mo yun, nagpapasalamat nga ako kung sino man, o si Sanya ang nakatanggap ng First Yaya na role, nagpapasalamat ako dahil at least magagawa yung First Yaya dahil napakaganda ng kwento ng First Yaya,” said Marian.
First Yaya is an upcoming teleserye of the Kapuso Network. It is the story about a Vice President (Gabby Concepcion) who later on became the President of the Philippines. He then falls in love with the nanny (Sanya Lopez) of his children. However, their romance is challenged by the Presidential Security Group Head (Pancho Magno).
